Do they have green feathers, long beaks and little feet?

I love watching humming birds. My Grandpa always has them around his house in northern WI.

I had to catch one two days ago. It had flown into my Ford Escape and was flying back and forth along the dash board. I cupped my hands around it and let it go. My daughter thought it was the cutest teeeniest thing ever and was terrified that it was hurting itself.

Small, green, and a grey chest....I think it was a very young one because it was about the size of my thumb....maybe a bit smaller even.

He just likes the idea of something that can fly and hover all at the same time. Kinda like this:

Just helped the wife put our feeders out down here in Se Louisiana. Hadn't seen no birds yet, though. Sure it won't be long though.

We live in mid-Mississippi and have two feeders available. Only one bird so far.

Last year we were swarming with them, so I hope they all come back.

Our feeders have been out since last weekend, but no hummers yet. Latest they have been by over a week, since we have been keeping track (over 15 years).

We also have them here in Arkansas. It's amazing just how fast their wing's move. Can you imagine them getting it on. It would be over in a heart beat. I Can't help it yall, my perversion slip's out sometime's.[:D]

Seems I've heard their feed goes stale after a few days, but
have been known to let it go longer. This might explain why they
    sometimes appear drunk.[;)]

Our's usually show on 4-15 like clockwork, but are a little late
this year it seems. I guess the cool spells have thrown them off
    a little.

Food usually replaced every three days Spryor, but it has been cool, and it reamins crystal clear. It will cloud when it is growing bacteria.

We used to have a feeder by the front door and we would know they were back when they appeared at the door looking for someone to talk to about the food.
