It can happen in any food containing corn. Several companies have had issues with this in past years. If you want to avoid it happeneing the only way is to avoid any dog food with corn in it. That knocks out about 95%.

Dont kid yourself on that they had issues with useing ethoxyquin as a preservative. And they also have a high corn content in several of their foods. The aflatoxin can be found in any food useing corn. The issue is that it is tested when shipped and can contain up to a certain amount, even in the corn consumed by humans, and still be legal. If the humidity is high during transport it can cause the aflatoxins to increase.

Any dog food with corn in it is subject. Corn is not a highly digestible "food" for humans or dogs. I love the stuff but limit the amount that I eat too. I wont feed my dogs anything that has ANY amount of corn in it because it is useless for their system and is nothing more than a filler. It gives them no nutritional benefit but is a cheap item to bulk up the bag of food.
Feed them a top quality food that is based on protein, complex carbs, and fats and they will eat less, digest what they do eat much better and be much healtier companions.
