    it does not if the person you are sending to is in the same state I belive.

    OK, gents- if you are gonna offer legal advice, check the regs. USPS.com An individual CAN use the US mail to ship a rifle or shotgun TO a FFL holder, and they can return one the same way. Handguns may NOT be mailed EXCEPT 01 FFL. Us C&R folks cannot mail a handgun.

    Mailings of rifles or shotguns only have to comply with Federal and State laws. An individual can mail a rifle or shotgun to an individual in the same state if state law does not prohibit it. There are also many people other than Type 01 FFLs that can mail handguns, including Type 02 and Type 07 FFLs. Others usually have to have some law enforcement connection.
