Individual shipping via USPS
The way I read the law and rules and regulations of the USPS and
ATF an individual can ship a rifle or shot gun (with a standard
barrel) if he is shipping to an FFL holder.
Am I wrong on this?

That is correct. 0 -
That is correct, and the safest/best way I know of.
Edited to add: actually, I didn't even know that it had to be to
an FFL...oops.[8D]0 -

OK, gents- if you are gonna offer legal advice, check the regs. USPS.com An individual CAN use the US mail to ship a rifle or shotgun TO a FFL holder, and they can return one the same way. Handguns may NOT be mailed EXCEPT 01 FFL. Us C&R folks cannot mail a handgun. 0 -

Mailings of rifles or shotguns only have to comply with Federal and State laws. An individual can mail a rifle or shotgun to an individual in the same state if state law does not prohibit it. There are also many people other than Type 01 FFLs that can mail handguns, including Type 02 and Type 07 FFLs. Others usually have to have some law enforcement connection.0
