this forum is like smoking crack
1. the first thing you do when you get home from work is see what's new on the forum
2. the first thing you do when you wake up is see what's new on the forum
3. the last thing you do before you go to work is see what's new on the forum
4. you don't work, you just post on the frikkin' forum
5. you haven't logged off in a year
6. where's the "log off" link on the page? you had to look for it, huh
7. you go to other websites like fleabay or photobucket or whatever, and you automatically start typing in your GB username
8. you can't figure out why you can't log on to windows... you were using your GB username again
9. you click on 'history' and under the GB forum, it goes off the page
10. you have more than 20,000 posts... zipperzap
11. you can do all of the following:
A. name at least a dozen regulars right off the top of your head,
B. 20 more if you think about it,
C. would recognize 30 more if they were told to you,
D. can match up at least 20 sig pictures with the correct user
12. who cares about news, you get what's important off GB
13. you spend 2 hours typing a fookin' reply to a post
14. you hit the wrong *(&$&()$ button and do it all over again
15. you have at least 5 different pictures of remote girl saved to your hard drive
16. your computer desktop has a wallpaper of people on the forum
17. when you buy a new gun the first thing you do is put up a picture so everybody can see it
18. somebody knocks on your door in the middle of the night, you're scared they might try to jack you, do you call the cops? no, first you post something about it on the forum
19. you have posted on the forum from more than one country
20. you give your belongings to people on the forum
and 21... you can name 20 reasons why this forum is like smoking crack!!!
oh yeah... 22... you know more ppl will respond with yet more reasons!

For some of us this forum has changed too much, we realy miss the good ol days of GB when there wasnt so many fights and Nunns poof button actually had dust on it. Too many angry people with chips on their shoulders here now. Dare I say GB is a little dysfunctional now?
I must say however I do miss arguing with Bullzeye about killing deer with a 223, why the AK47 is junk and why I would rather depend on a worn out AR15 then an AK47 and the biggest one that caused a big seperation from here..... JAP CARS!!!
I've made alot of friends here, met several of them and thanks to a former GB member Robsguns I now have an excellent paying job in the Middle East working with the greatest people on earth, the members of the United States Armed Forces!
When I was still a long haul truckdriver and owner operator I used to spend buku $$ at internet terminals in the truckstops everyday checking posts, I used to drive out of my way in the big truck to go visiting GB members, been to Nunns house more than once and found out he is a stand up guy. Infact I had a 2000 Peterbilt 379 I had owned for less than a year burn to the ground on me losing everything I had in the truck, Nunn started a drive and got me help after that, I will never forget that. DWS used to be cool but is now acting like a mean senile old fart, when EMM came on board he asked permission to argue with us, we gave it to him and must say he ran with it. How many remember the appliace shoots at Tools house or some of the first gettogethers arranged by PaBooger?
Now many of us started our own websites or joined other forums, they may be alot slower than this place sometimes registering less than 10 new posts per day but the atmosphere is more pleasant. Sure we still come back to visit, some of us like to take a poke at those with the chips on thier shoulders but it still isnt the GB we remember from several years ago. How many remember the daily news we got from Josey or the novel snippets from Whiteclouder, the passing of one of Robsguns retired Marine buddies, how about the Call To Arms on Sept 11?
Yep this place has changed and yes it is a habit to come back even if it is a new crowd and many of us do not fit in anymore. I have made many new friends here, learned alot about guns that I probably never would have known had it not been for GB, I have one more year left on my second issue of my C&R license that I would have never gotten had it not been for GB and big thanks to one more former GB member GHD for getting me out of amature accuracy shooting into a whole other world of shooting that has me spending $3K+ on a gun now just to shoot paper with! With that being said I will go against probably any one of you on a 500 yard shoot now thanks to GHD!0 -
