Ruger Target

Stopped by the gun store today and spied a mighty nice Rugger M77 Target rifle in .25-06. The price was agreeable and I love bull barrels, but I'm not familiar with Ruger bolt rifles and I've heard mixed opinions from some of the guys working at the store. Anyone here own a Target M77? How do they shoot? More importantly, how is Ruger's customer service in case I ever need to call on them for something? Thanks for the help, hopefully I'll have a new friend coming home soon.

  I have a Ruger M77V in .243. It's super accurate and has held up nicely over the years. It's a RUGER though, so it's heavy.

  Ruger 77V in 280 made in 1981 , super nice gun , holds sub 1" groups at 100 yards and does 2 1/2" at 300 yards , not bad for a factory gun

  I have used a 77 heavy target in .308 that I borrowed from my dad for a couple years
  and had a 77 vle in .223 (same thing, just parked) both were .5moa rifles
  the .223 would shoot cheap (at the time 55gr FMJ) .7moa @ 200 yds. should not have sold it[V]

  Ruger customer service has always been excellent for me. I like Rugers and find them as accurate as any other "factory" rifle. As already mentioned, however, they are HEAVY especially with the bull barrel. I think that you will be pleased with the 77 and the .25 - o6 is also a plus! ghs
