I'm thinking of purchasing a .44 magnum. I've never owned one before and I heard somewhere you could shoot another cartridge in it like you can a .38 special in a .357. Is this true, and if so what cartridge is it.

    For almost 20 years , I like the Star-Fire bullets from PMC , but other then gun shows they are tough to find

    I've been reloading the 44mag and special for a number of years now.
    The most accurate handgun I have shot was a s&w model 29. One ragged hole at 25 yards. One of my favorites to reload.

    I love the 44 mag ...... First time I shot one I was really dissapointed, I had heard all the hype about shooting through a enggine block. [8D] Now I use one for deer ... Relaoding is the best way to get the most out of a 44mag

    I just started. A friend is helping me learn the ropes. I wanted to test the waters before I bought a bunch of stuff I wouldn't use much. I have not reloaded before, my buddy said the 44 mag was a good one to learn on. I took my first deer with a hand gun (.44 mag SRH) last year. Great fun to shoot but a bit pricey thus the motivation to learn to reload.

    As you can tell by my "screen name", 44mag is my favorite cartridge to reload and shoot. I'm happy to see the posts here, there definately IS enough interest for me to do my First give away (for 500 posts). STAY TUNED........ The give away will be a NEW TOPIC, and the item(s) will not disappoint. If they disappoint you don't bother, you really aren't a reloader of 44mag[;)] I plan to post TONITE 10/5 and end it on monday 10/8 at midnite.
