How do you protect your guns
that are in safes? Mine are starting to show a little mold on some of the wood. I've heard about golden rods and some kind of silica bags that can be reenergized in the dryer. I was just wondering the best route to go.

both work good for me 0 -
I have a golden rod and a dessicant dryer. Plus, I have a de-humidifier in the same room as the safe. 0 -
I have used the dessicant bags made by remington. I didn't like them, had several bags fall apart when recharging in the oven as per instructions.
I now use these Remington plug-in dessicant dryers. I use two per safe to be extra "safe"[;)]
I bought mine at Dick's but couldn't find them on the site but found one on ebay for you to look at.

So the Remington plug-in dessicant dryer is a self contained unit and I just take it out and plug in in a 110 receptacle for a few hours every month? 0 -
Yup, sorry it took so long to get back to you.
I plug them in when I go to work at 4am and unplug them around 8 at night. They have a window that changes color when they are saturated.
Best system I have found so far. I know Cabelas sells them as well.0
