importing a auto????

What can you tell me about importing a truck from Australia. What hoops do I need to jump through and how much would shipping cost. I have always wanted an toyota fj-45 landcruiser truck and they seem to be alot cheaper over there.

    When I lived in Germany in the late 80's it was arund $1200 for shipping and another $3-$8k if it needed to be converted to American specs (both safety and emmissions). Isn't Australia right-hand drive?

    By the time you buy it and have it shipped over hear you might have been better off buying one here!

    no guarantees it would make it over! I knew an Iraqi guy that came over on the same freight ship with his car, and it still got "lost". $12,000 Acura.

    It will cost 2 million dollars.

    If it didn't, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that we would all be driving Australian vehicles ??

    with current regulations it is nearly impossible to get a grey market car registered legally.
