Only 2 weeks until my black powder elk season. I have been scouting all summer and and have found some very good looking spots. I went early on Saturday to my #1 spot to see if any archery hunters were using it. Much to my surprise no one was hunting it. So I slipped in for a quick look just after the sun was up and in 45 minutes I ran into 12 bulls, 2 of which were over 300. Two weeks, just two more weeks.

    You lucky dog! I went to my lease last weekend- counted 17 cottonmouths while out looking around. One of our members lives just off the lease, he killed a 4'+ rattler last Thursday.
    It's really hard to keep your mind on whitetails while watching for "shakytails"!![xx(]

    No but I would love to spend more time in that area. All of my elk hunting has been in the SW part of the state.
