    Don't they make .45 ACP revolvers? I'm pretty sure someone does.

    Would these guns not be a good back up for an auto of the same caliber.

    S&W 25-2 .45ACP using full circle clips.

    One of my favorite guns.

    Colt and Smith - .45 ACP revolvers during the wars. Some were .455 for the British.

    Also known as full moon clips, they are used for easier loading and unloading of rimless cartriges such as 45ACP and 9mm. They also make half moon clips too.

    It has been discontinued. It did not sell well.

    Since .45acp is rimless, you need something to keep it in place...thus the full circle ring.

    Moon clips (never heard them called full circle clips before) do not keep the ammo in place as the ammo head spaces off of the case rim. You can fire the ammo just fine without the clips. The clips just make it easier to extract the empties and reload.

    Ruger makes the New model Black in 357mag / 9mm, these use a different cylinder for each cartridge , same holds true with their 45LC/45acp , they make or have made the SP101 in 9mm and i believe the discontinued Service Six was cambered in 9mm

    With the convertable Blackhawks you don't need the moon clips either.

    9mm is very accurate, the problem is .357 is .357, and 9mm is .355, and shooting it down a .357 barrel will not provide much accuracy at all

    same with .45 colt {.456}, .45 acp {.452}
    pure marketing genius

    S&W has made several different revolvers that were chambered for rimless automatic pistol cartridges as Bigtire has stated. I think the only one they offer now is the Model 22 .45acp. Here are pictures of my Model 610 10mm and my Pre 26 .45acp. The 610 will shoot .40 cals. The Pre 26 is like the Model 25, but with a tapered light barrel.

    These are both N-Frames and heavy enough to handle the recoil nicely. Both are a pleasure to shoot.
