Trading guns over state lines

A friend of mine wants to trade an atv motor for a gun. He lives in Ohio and I live in Indiana. How can this be done legally. Right now I'm guessing I have to go to a ffl in Indiana and have it shipped to a ffl in Ohio. If this is how it's done, is there an easier way? Can it be done person to person?

  In ohio it is legal to sell a long gun to anyone in a neighboring state. See if your state has the same laws
