Well, I heard your radio show a few years ago say that dinosaurs still live in Middle Earth, so it very well might be an escaped pteradactyl.

Hmmm. It's certainly not Wilson's Bird of Paradise, Cicinnurus respublica is a small, up to 21cm long, passerine bird of the Paradisaeidae family ... sometimes known as the Wilson
    Booby. Wonder what it is?

You can't get a license to shoot one of them, so don't worry about that. If'n you can't get a license, you aren't breaking the law.

We can help i.d. the bird if we can see it.

The fact that you can't see a Crest only means that it doesn't brush its teeth.

If there are a couple of them, with a orange glaze, wild rice, and a palatable white wine you have a possible memorable gastronomic experience.

I am the only one authorized to dicuss Wilson's Boobies.

    Please refrain from further speculation.

Judging from your location, it is probably a "St. Louis Cardinal".... [;)]
