Ban these guns!
...OK, This may have been around already, but so what?...
..It was reported on the news today that over 30,000 people shoot themselves with nail guns each year.
..There is little excuse for our government to allow over the counter sales of these dangerous and lethal weapons. Is it an accident that these nail guns look so much like an assault weapon?
One thing I think our government could do right away is limit the size of the magazine, if we limit the magazine size to the more sane size of six nails, the user might do far less damage to himself or others, and he could ponder what he's doing between reloads.
I've heard true stories of people nailing their own testicle to a board, and far more..
..There are other serious impacts upon our society regarding the use of these deadly nail guns, one operator might take the place of five or more workers who once swung hammers for a living. Nail guns run on energy, and often that energy is created by fossil fuels, the hammer is really powered by Biofuels if the operator is eating properly. It could be in society's best interest to calculate the amount of green house gasses created on average by these guns. I can't help but think that the power cords between the compressor and power source are dangerous trip hazards, when we think about the air hose running all over the place, this adds another serious trip hazard. Consider all the dangerous re-bar, and the many things a worker could fall on, the real damage this nail gun creates may be incalculable! When we consider that many of these injured workers might receive care at the emergency room without proper insurance, the potential cost of allowing our citizens, guest workers, and illegals to operate such a dangerous weapon is likely far greater than we'd first suspect.
..At the very least, we could pass a law that you need a special weapons permit, and the proper medical coverage to run one of these things, and while we're at it, let's get some finger prints and Proof of citizenship. Imagine these things falling into the hands of terrorists..
