Nice gun. I brought it up a few hundred bucks, but that is all I can do right now.
A local shop that is closing has a nice one that I am going to try to get a good deal on.

Plain ole M1A's were going for close to a thousand at the gun show this weekend. This one is much nicer than anytihing I saw there. It looks like there's a hood on the rear sight. Could this gun have match sights or possibly be a National Match rifle?

It does appear that either the rifle was a converted FA M-14 OR the stock was for a FA rifle. The filler on the right hand side is where the selector switch would be located.

My best friend recently purchased a Harrington/Richardson converted full auto and then made into a national match. On his, instead of filler, they used a piece of wood that matches the stock wood.

Check the barrel carefully for a "national match" stamping.
    My buddy's has it.

BTW, he paid $1,500. The rifle was blued like a Python.

There are no marks at all on the barrel. This is the very first of these that I have had that didn't have SOMETHING on the barrel.

    no markings? chicom import bbl.
looks like someone glassed the stock/receiver.
lf...are the sight knobs or base marked NM2A on the side anywhere?
pretty wood looks like a fajen upgrade.
if its a military medium wt NM bbl, the NM will be just behind the front sight on the side of the bbl.

pics wont load past 11. ill give more input once i see the other pics.

NM062 is on the front site....and NM DRC is on the dial of the rear site...and NM on the post of the rear site. There is a TRY or TRW (hello 39 yr old eyeballs) on the top of the bolt along with the long serial number and ZG also on the top of the bolt.

On the stock, about where the trigger is....there is a P inside a circle and a small number 4 outside that mark.

I may be better at finding things in the morning....my eyes tend to "give up" about this time of day.

looks like false advertising to me, kind of a bate and switch thing. Advertise a penny and the price is realy over $1000.

ok, pics help. the MATCH rear sight assy is off an M1 garand.
btw, i have reason to believe the stock is an oversize match MILSPEC M-14 stock. look at the depth in which the mag well screws sink into the sides of the stock. looks are meaningless. x counts and good bores is that matters. its STILL a good gun. bravo locust, hope you get a good price for it.

    If you can tell me
    Barrel
    Oprod
    Trigger
    Trigger group
    Gas cylinder
    Flashhider
    Bolt
Mfgrs, then I might be interested.
Otherwise it is a generic M1A ad.
Those things make about 70% of the value.
