  I'm not sure if the actual postage stamp has a date, this is the new "forever" stamp. This stamp will be honored on any 1-oz envelope, anytime from now to eternity. Conceivably you could use the stamp to send regular postage flat mail under 1 oz a hundred years from now and the stamp will be honored.
  I plan to buy several sheets when they come available.

  Why do we have a 39 cent stamp or a 41 cent stamp? What is the significance of an odd number?

  I just bought some today too. The American Flag stamps are just the normal .41 cent stamps. The Liberty Bell stamps are the forever stamps and are so marked. So use your American Flag stamps up before the next price increase. It seems odd that they would offer both??
