Anti-Gunner gets arrested for possessing gun in CA
The founder of an anti-gang center called "No Guns" was arrested after police said they found a gun in his home and his son, a reputed gang member nicknamed "Little Weasel," was taken into custody in connection with a home-invasion robbery.
Hector Marroquin Sr., 49, a former gang leader, was arrested Thursday for investigation of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, said Hawthorne police Lt. Tom Jester. Police found the gun when they raided his home looking for his son, 31-year-old Hector Marroquin Jr., Jester said.
The son was arrested for investigation of home-invasion robbery stemming from a December crime in Hawthorne, Jester said.
Marroquin Sr., a heavily tattooed and once-feared gang leader, opened his No Guns Center in 1998 after a 2-year-old boy was killed by a stray bullet. He said at the time that his goal was to create a place that would promote gang intervention and violence prevention.
The center started a youth soccer club, other recreation programs and job training.
Marroquin Sr., however, was unable to keep his son from joining a gang. In 1996, the elder Marroquin was shot while trying to protect his son from a beating.
Both men had bailed out of jail by Friday morning, Lt. Keith Kauffman said.
Neither has a listed telephone number.

I also hate hypocrits. Kinda like back in the 1960's. There was a black national newspaper editorial writer who was extremely against firearm ownership. Handguns at least. I can't remember his name, (Rowan, yeah. I think it was Carl Rowan. I could be wrong)but he lived in Washington, D.C., one of the most anti-gun cities in the USA. And also one of the cities with the highest rate of gun crime in the USA. Anyway, one night some teenagers invaded his outside swimming pool for an illegal swim. Apparently one of the teenagers came to or even tried Rowan's patio door on his house. At this point Rowan opend the door and threatened the teenager with a .22 handgun. Police were called and Rowan was caught for having the handgun in a city that totally outlaws civilian possession of handguns.
So for a guy who makes a living writing anti-gun ownership editorials for newspapers all across the USA, one would think that he would have gone to prison like anyone of us would have for having the handgun. But here is the weaseally way he got out of it and the weaseally way the D.C. justice system let him get out of it.
Rowan said that the handgun belonged to his son who was an F.B.I. agent. So Rowan thought it was legal for him to have it in his house.

I believe that he did not shoot the kid. I remember reading the newspaper article soon after it event actually happened and I am sure there was no shooting. Plus, don't forget that Rowan hide behind his son's job (FBI Agent) and played stupid by saying Rowan thought it was OK for him to have the gun in his house since it belong to his FBI son.
