Does CarFax [or equiv.] tell you mileage history?
Is there a check to know what the mileage was at various times in a vehicle's history?
Would CarFax only tell you when it was registered or when title changed hands?

We just bought a car last week and I don't remember if it had the mileage. Shoot me an e-mail. 0 -
I just checked and they do have a last reported odometer reading that I guess is sent in to the BMV when the title is changed. 0 -

Car fax is crap!I flooded my 97 explorer and after I repaired it , I traded it on on a pontic. Car fax showed it had sold,But made NO mention of the flood damage.This was in 2000,Maybe its changed now but I doubt it.0 -
I bought a used truck two years ago and Carfax was very helpful. In my case, I did have the mileage checkup.
This is because the owner lived in Atlanta. He had to get an air pollution inspection every year. Carfax had all these records, and every year when this was done, the mileage was noted.
If you bought a car that didn't have annual pollution inspections, I suppose the only mileage checks would be when the car was sold.0 -

Bought a 99 Accura in '04. It had a clean CarFax. When I took it to the body shop to get the electric window fixed, they showed me where it had been wrecked.0 -

Carfax has a number of partisapating members who provide info, If your insurance company is not a member than Carfax report will not furnish the info. So if Nationwide and State Farm are partisapating members and you are insured by Liberty and total your car the info won't show up on Carfax. 0
