Where is the best place to get shipping boxes for long guns? Thanks

Looking for some various sized shipping boxes. Thinking about checking out some local stores to see if they have some used ones. Any idea as to what type of store might have a variety of used ones? Thinking about a local hardware store but wondering if they might only have large ones.

I have never had to ship a longgun. I would like to sale a couple longguns on GunBroker. But, where do you all get the right kind of shipping package? 0 -

The couple of long guns I have had to ship I got boxes from my local dealer. If you need more then one or two I don't know. 0 -

i usally just go to walmart and pick up a cheap gun case to ship them in. 0 -
That is what I was going to do, then while reading the rules of shipping; it says that you are not supposed have the box marked in any way indicating that a firearm is inside. A gun case seemed like a dead giveaway. You think it is ok?

Walmart gets all of their guns delivered in the boxes 0 -
how about the usps the post master at my loc. post office says she cant get boxs but a cust. can go on line and order them free of charge. I have not check it yet.

I have used a plastic gun case inside a cardboard box to ship rifles to Smiths, but they were coming back. For one way boxes work fine when packed tight with styrofoam peanuts. I would not ship a bare case, as you say, it screams "gun" and could prove too much temptation at UPS. 0 -
...If you have one of those PO Box/mailing centers by you...I bought 8 X 8 X 36" boxes for a little over a buck each. Though all were not long enough, just cut some in half before you fold them "into" a box...and duct tape the joint. I bought 20 something boxes for less than $30 bucks, including tax...and there the heavy cardboard too..
...I had a bunch of C & R's that are LONG that needed to be shipped when sold...easiest/cheapest way I found...[;)]

Florescent light bulb boxes, gutter supply stores, etc. etc.
Or in my case I have a ton of them in the basement from previous purchases, most of which are in VG shape.0
