Groundhog Devastation's 14-point buck
Charlie finally got his deer head back from the taxidermist. I think he's a bit happy about it. The folks in the picture are Dan (the previous owner of the other gun shop in town), Freddie (Charlie's partner at R&D Sporting Goods), Charlie (the one with the deer and very big smile), Steve (a retired cop from his town and now town coucilman), and Brad (a serious archer). The grand opening is next weekend and GHD is happy that his deer head came back in time for the VA State competition, also next weekend.

A little background on the crew in the pic......Dan.......VA STATE SKEET SHOOTING CHAMPION (notice the "KREIGHOFF K-80" cap he's wearing) closed his gunshop after the diabolical, liberal, idiot Bloomberg sent someone into his store to do a "straw purchase". No FFL or BATF or VA state laws were violated by DAN!! However Bloomberg should have been cuffed and led from his plush office by the U.S. Marshalls to face FELONY gun law violations.........since that happened, the VA Attorney General has ruled that such conduct by Bloomberg and his ilk will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted under VA law!! Freddie(partner in the store) former LEO who got the short end of the stick by the city of Roanoke and forced to take early retirement(kids out of the academy are cheaper than 15 year veterans you know........gotta protect the city coffers!!) Myself, never had a whitetail that I shot mounted until this one except for Miss GHD's first deer. This one I thought I should have done!! Steve, retired LEO, and now on town council and a crack shot with handgun, rifle!! Into Cowboy stuff now! just good people! And Brad!! 7 time VA STATE ARCHERY CHAMPION and 4th in the NATIONALS!! Great young guy to have around and I'm trying to help him with his resume to hopefully get some factory sponsorship on the archery tour!!
Oldgunner, good to hear from you and the rest of my old friends from here! And LOKO383........no buckeyes this far south but we do have some buckwheat. Not many acorns here this year!! But have seen some shooter bucks in scouting!! There is a non-typical........actually a genetic fluke I've watched and the WIDEST, TALLEST 6 pointer I have ever seen!! Either of them would be more pleasing to have a chance at than the magnificent 12 pointer that just needs "1 more year"!! GHD0 -
