G.B Auction??????
Any body ever buy a gun off the auction here? I have been looking for 2 guns but the price of them here plus the FFL thing and shipping is ridiculous.

Where else can you find a market that sells every type of gun, including used and new for a wide range of prices. I think its fantastic!
The FFL cost is a factor only to the buyer and will range from $25-50 I believe and shipping can be expensive for handguns, say $50 or less. But if you buy right you can do very well. IMHO0 -
You are right Chuck. Shipping and FFL charges can be expensive. I use the search feature to find sellers in my area to avoid shipping and FFL charges. I won an auction on here and picked up the rifle the next day. 0 -
I bought three rifles (two mosins and an SKS) off of GB. This was when I was just starting out in guns and didn't know the various options that were available to me, and didn't know what was a good price and what wasn't.
For high-end/rare stuff, GB is good, as well as the various accessories and stuff like that. But for low to mid range guns, the local gunshop can do just as well (and you dont have to pay a transfer fee, shipping, or wait several weeks).0 -
Yup. Got a great deal on a project Winchester 67 here. I'm always looking on GB for deals that my local gun guy can't beat. I always find 'em, too. Then the wife steps in and reminds me that we have kitchen cabinets to buy, a living room to insulate and drywall, carpet to get, a toddler that can't support herself...
Yeah, my wife has a long and rather selfish list of reasons I can't buy anything I want from GunBroker.

I bought all of my really common milsurp rifles from AIM, but when it comes to everything else, unless you enjoy paying an arm and a leg, it's either Gunbroker or CDNN (and CDNN doesn't seem to think they need an accessible webpage catalog).
I haven't bought a rifle from a gun store since my very first. And I probably never will again. Not enough "trying to make ends meet", too much "It's our price, now buy it or get the hell out!".0 -

I have bought about 35-40 guns off the GB auction. Happy with all except two. One was replaced by the seller and the other I decided to keep and live with the minor imperfection.
Yes, shipping and transfer add to the cost so keep them in mind before bidding. Look at seller feedback to get an idea of how he operates. Make sure you have a transfer dealer lined up, know his charges, and if buying from an individual make sure the FFL will accept shipment from a non-dealer. Some won't. There's a list of FFLs with contact info under Sellers' Tutorial on home page.
As for prices, like everything else it's a free market. Some things are ridiculous but certainly not all. I usually look for older guns and good deals are out there. Such as:
S&W Triple Lock for $295.
S&W Model 14 .38 Special for $100. (Yes, one hundred bucks.)
Charles Daly complete 1911 lower for $160.
Walther post-war P38 for $199.
Winchester M94 made in 1954 for $160.
S&W M28 for $260.
About 30 or so more.0 -
I've bought 10-12, and all were because they were a better price, all cost inclusive, than I could find elsewhere at the time or I would not have purchased them. You need to be patient, and be looking for something you do not have to have at that moment in time, and you can find a good price on what you want or need.[:)] 0 -
I have bought several guns on Gunbroker.
I have even bought guns here that were below wholesale prices so I can't for the lfe of me understand why some people think it is expensive to buy guns off this web sight. Under wholesale prices are to expensive??? Plus the sales tax savings???0 -
I have bought a number of them. And everyone of them was a great price compaired to what I could get the same gun for around here (even after shipping and FFL). So if you look there are good prices, just got to catch the right ones at the right time. 0 -

I've bought and sold - shipping and FFL and all that just comes with it. Get a bluebook and others and check around - some prices on here are way out there. but some are actually well within book range. That is good when you have a pistol that may bring a higher amount than book because of the wide area that this site covers. 0
