CMP M-1 rifles
Just recieved (yesterday) 4 rack grade (only grade available) M-1 rifles
from CMP. I was pleasantly surprised at their condition. All wood in great condition, almost all metal was good with the exception of one gas cylinder and its retainer needing refinishing. All Springfields, 2 from 1942 and 2 from 1944. All were evidently rebarreled with U.S. G.I. barrels of varying dates. Looks like I got my order in just under the wire. Only did a quick muzzle wear test with a loaded round and all
seem good. Will borrow the T.E. guage and the M.W. guage from my friend for true checks. I really expected them to be in much worse condition
so it made my day. Looks like the supply has temporaraly (?) dried up
for now. Sure hope more are found.

I went to the CMP website the other day to get the address of the southern store thinking I might drive over after the school year is over and finally buy that M1 I have been thinking about for a couple years.
But the site said they don't have any more.
Guess I thought about it too long.0 -
Saxon Pig: Like you, I waited and almost waited too long to add some more. Not going to do the same thing on the M-1 ammo. Although I am not hurting, going to order some more cans of ammo. This supply of guns and ammo surely will come to a end shortly. Right now, I wish I had ordered 8 M-1's instead of only 4. 0 -
Gonna share Joe? [:D][:D][:D] 0 -
They have more in stock, they are a bit behind due to the influx of M1 carbines to be graded and sorted; I imagine more will be up by August and the National High Power matches. 0
