I sweat like a river...I clean my SigP220 once every week, and carry it away from my body in a "Bible Case". Still, is getting a little worn looking after fifteen years and over 20,000 rounds. I bought a spring and screws "maintenance kit" for it, but haven't had to replace anything but one lockwasher that rolled away.

Yeah, I can't imagine a real steel gun under these conditions - the cleaning would have to have been Daily. Bless those materials scientists!

I clean it after I shoot it.

I am ashamed at how long mine has gone without a good go-over. My excuse is that I usually end up selling whatever is my carry gun....and there have been no offers that would make me part with my little Springfield Micro Compact. This will be the very first time I have carried something long enough to really need to clean it.

in my work areas, constant moisture and harsh chemicals all day
so every day is the rule..which sometimes goes 2-3 days tho im ashamed to admit it.
i took to carrying a lil p-64 because it was cheap if it gets eaten away. between the environment and my sweating like mad all day it often has rust daily (cheap french blue doesnt help)

    depends on the gun

    glock = never

stainless 1911= properly cleaned and oiled, "carry"clean once a month a basic cleaning and oil with a total break down to the frame only every few months

wilson combat= due to the armour tuff finish it will never rust, only thing that will rust is the barrel and springs, oil them with ultima lube and no worries you just have to clean out the dust

me and blued guns have never gotten along, they stay in the safe, you can ruin the finish in 1 hot summer day

I have had to use CLP to remove rust from them and protect the grip screws on my SIG P-229. The grips should be taken off 3 times a yr for cleaning lint and everything else you can imagine from under the grips.

test-fired and cleaned twice a year. A stainless S&W auto so it doesn't really need much more than that.

I carry a Glock 27. I clean it when I fire it which is about 1 once a month. I'm embarressed though I should practice every other weekend at least since I'm staking my life on it.

I carry a USP .40, It is like my 11th finger.

I ALWAYS have it it with me, even when I sleep. I haven't cleaned it since I bought it 8 months ago. I've put a thousand rounds through it and it still performs flawlessly.

Unfortunately, that would be never because of my great state leaders and a couple of cities down South that run the state.[xx(][:(!][:(]

In the Peoples Republik of Illinois, I am denied my right to bear arms. I can keep them, though, which is good.

Anyways, I clean mine after every target session. I never let powder residue sit.

Once a week, on Sunday night, but I know it doesn't need to be that often, I'm just USMC anal about it.[}:)]

S&W mod. 60 - change the ammo once a month and check the springs. Clean the powder residue off after changing the ammo[:D][:D]
