Heavy flow day,Alice?
Why yes,and thank you very much for asking.
I drank 1.5 gallons of water today trying to keep hydrated in this miserable heat and humidity. The heat indices here have been 120F+ for 5 days and no relief in sight. Combine that with 12-16 hour days and you have the makings of a VERY heavy "flow" day.
My 6'5" frame is dwindling to a paltry 210 #'s(from almost 240) and I can't stop it!
Yet,the chair remains in the corner!
Someone please help me understand this conundrum....

Since it essentially contains no electrolytes, water is not the best fluid to maintain adequate hydration. Actually, it may even worsen the picture by causing hyponatremia.
A better alternative instead is to replenish both water and electrolites using sports drinks - such as Gatorade, Powerade, etc.0 -
set your fluid intake at 50/50 water/Gatorade, plus you need to up your potassium intake buy eating banana's and nectarines, you also might want to take a salt tablet everyday 0 -

But,aren't we about 70-80% water? Also,I've heard that "sports drinks" are not very healthy as they contain too much salt and/or sugar. Thanks for the reply and I'd be interested to hear more about hydration. Sure could use some good advice!0 -
The salt in them drinks is good, if'n u need it.

Sports drinks are better than distilled water alone.
However, Pedia-Lyte is best albeit much more expensive than sports drinks.0 -

Hey Polite Psycho, who drinks distilled water? In the US we all drink fru fru bottled water. Mine comes from the Fiji Islands. Even our tap water is drinkable by natives. 0 -
