ruger 10-22 actions
I want to build a 17hmr & i have looked around for 10/22 actions & not had much luck finding them here or elsewhere. Anyone have any good sources please feel free to let me know where I can find reasonable prices on them. Thanks rg

Brownells sells them.
But it is always cheaper to find an older beat up looking rifle and salvage the receiver and bolt from it.0 -
Like MVP said Brownells or any of the other big parts companies like that. FWIW I got mine from Brownells for my pistol build. 0 -

Why do you need a magnum action for that conversion?
I have 5 10-22's, but they are all .22LR. I have never done a conversion, so I'm not familiar with the process.
The .17 seems to be a very small round... is it the pressures?0 -

YEP, and length of chamber.Has to be .22Mag. to go HMR, but i believe you can go .17short, from .22Lr.I realy want an HMR,,,, BAD..[}:)]

.17HMR is built on the .22 mag case.
.17 Mach 2 is built on the .22 LR case.
If you are building a HMR you will need the longer action. If you are building a Mach 2 you can use any old 22LR.0 -

I'll keep looking until I find what I need. Found a few websites that offer 17hmr ready to build assemblies with all the latest add ons for $280 0
