my little voice is telling me this is a bad thing. It seems like a good thing for insurance companies and state paid health care. anyone got the skinny on this?

  You should be free to not have health insurance if you don't want it. There's a huge difference between forcing people to carry liability insurance for driving around in an automobile (where you can end or ruin another human being's life) and forcing someone to have health insurance to pay for their own medical bills.

  Let them go ahead and mandate it. It won't help. The fine will be cheaper than the insurance. They can't even properly enfore the auto insurance requirement.
