This made my day!!!!!
I had to run to the store this afternoon, and when I got home, my wife said that while I was gone, someone rang our doorbell. She could see a car in the driveway, but didn't know whose it was. She answered the door and there stood a little 5 year old girl. The girl had a metal tin, handed it to my wife, and said "This is for your husband for taking care of me when I got sick." Turns out, this was a little girl that had a seizure at school about three weeks ago. My unit responded to the call and took her to the hospital. She and her mother had made some homemade cookies, put them in the tin, and brought them to me!!! How sweet!!! Anyway....this just put a big smile on my face and I thought I'd share it with you guys and gals!

Nice. It must feel good to have somebody take time actually to say thanks. Really, it brings tears to my eyes. 0 -

Very nice story. Things like that let you know that you really matter. Beach 0 -
I like it when someone that I've helped says thank you and how they appreciated the help. One not long ago was a truck driver that wrecked on the toll-road and called to say thanks and let me know his email so I could send the pictures of his truck.
Another was a daughter of a big guy we had help the ambulance crew take to the hospital and then help again when he was transferred to Fort Wayne. She called up the next day to tell us thanks and that her dad had passed away during the night. She was calling everyone that had help her dad during the last hours of life to say thank you.
A little thanks goes a very long way.0 -

That's got to make you feel awfully good about yourself, the job you do and the people who depend upon you. Way to go Slider!!!

That was a wonderful thankyou! That child must also have good parents raising her, which is another thing to be thankful for.
There was a thread here the other day about peeves. One fella responded that he hated children. I would suspect he never experienced anything like you just did or he would change his mind.0 -

That's the kind of 'Thank you' that carries a guy through the rough times. It's nice to see a youngster getting the proper direction. Cookie Give-Away????[:D][:D] 0 -
Sorry guys!!! The cookies are ALL GONE!!! They were good too!!!!! 0 -
Stories like that "make the day" for a lot more than just the people who deserved and got the "thanks".
Thanks for telling that one.[:)]0 -

+1 on the thumbs up.
I have felt similar, but not to the level as your story. On the home rotation from deployment, we would pass thru Bangor airport. I must have passed thru ther 3 or 4 times and there was the old lady that met us. Sometimes at all hours of night, she would hug us and give us a little flag sticker telling how proud she was of us. Almost made me as happy as seeing the family, almost[:)].
