Here she is.....my student driver and pals!
We went out for about two hours this morning. I have learned I can be a lot more patient than I ever thought I could. Please pray for the poor clutch and transmission.....

lol.
Thought you were mad at LF0 -
Just drill her with you in the dummy seat until it looks to you like she knows what she's doing.
That's what my dad did for me and I did for my brother (after dad determined him skilled enough to hand over to me).
We both drove/drive cars with 200hp or more and I have had no accidents, he had one which was some girl backing into him at the school parking lot (not his fault obviously)
Of course I take to technology and machinery like a duck to water (I joke that I have the "ancient gene", like in Stargate) so my bro and I may be the exception not the rule.0 -
I'm staying out of this!
-nice car, beautiful daughter-0 -
It is against the rules to be mad at me....shocked, speechless and aggrivated is fine, but mad will cost you $5 (e-mail me for the address to send the money to for all of you who insist on being mad.)
Marc...I worry about everyone's kids these days (especially the ones in the immediate area of my house and are male and also around 15 to 19 yrs old.)0 -
You have a pretty daughter LF.
She looks like a normal teenage girl to me.
We have some real weird looking kids up here in Seattle.0 -
You wanna see weird....check out the kids on Myspace for a bit. Last nite I was doing some checking up and there are some nuts out there. 0 -

there are some real creeps out there and she has to be careful.
Tell her a young man you know said these words, she might believe a "young guy" more than a parent.0 -
Cant trust her on Myspace but you trust her with a BMW [B)] lol [:D] [:D] [:D] 0 -
My first vehicle was a beat up old Ford truck that I bought with money I made doing oil changes, alot of oil changes. 0 -
no matter what your daughter tells you shes not a good girl no teenager is good..with hormones an a lack of knowldge lots of things can happen expecially when the devil alachol is added into the mix...just remember half of what she tells you is lies the other is BS... 0 -
krinkov....its not her I don't trust on Myspace....its the nut jobs SHE would trust that I worry about. I don't want to have to post from a jail cell after blowing a hole in some perv that tries to meet my daughter through the computer! 0 -

With that said make sure she is safe and make sure she is not that IDIOT yapping on her phone as she does 65 in a 40. Good luck and its a hot little car.0 -

It actually is a good way for some people to stay in touch. Not everyone keeps their profiles public and open, only for friends. Don't see anything wrong with that, as well as things like fan clubs of various bands and stuff like that. But I don't disagree, some people made it an obsession besides that there're just too many weirdos and dangerous people out there.0 -
going to public school will introduce her to more weirdos than my-space also what do you consider a weirdo...oo but your the person who kicked the tard out huh...who knows what you'll do when you daugter brings home a "crazy"kid or worse yet one em them colored folks...how bout this why dont you let your daugter make her own desciouns...its crazy but she is almost 18 an can move out soon enough..i know i left home when i was 16...but thats another story..i guess really what im tryin to say is that im glad when i got see st.peter your not gonna be the one who judges me i dont know if i could pass for your clean white heaven... 0 -

OOOOhhh....yes she is pretty bad! But as a PERSON she is a good PERSON....and I was relating that to earlier comments made by marc1301 and tobefree that made me think that this little lady was somehow not the angel I believer her to be.
Driving....boy-howdie do we have a long way to go!!! I have found I have renamed the gears....we now have "Dang-first"..."God-blessed-second"...."Lord-help-third"...and "Oh-my-God-fourth" we won't go into the words I have said when we were supposed to be in NEUTRAL but instead are jumping and learching foreward as the car dies in first gear while the clutch is dumped. All the time I can stand will be spent riding around with her practicing before she ever gets out on her own......if I can stand it or the car breaks down.
Yes'ree, sounds like a fast learner there.
Clouder..0 -
I remember my first car. Well, it was pick up truck, actually. A 1936 Chevy that someone had swapped in a 1955 265 cubic inch V-8. Still had the 3-speed on the floor. It cost $400.
I wanted a Corvette. Nobody in my family was rich enough to afford such an extravagant gift. If they had been they still wouldn't have given me an expensive sports car.
I don't have any children. If I did I wouldn't want them growing up with a sense of entitlement. I would not give such an expensive car to a teenager nor would I allow anyone else to give my child such a gift. I think it develops false values. What will she expect next, a vacation home on the Riviera? Has she ever earned anything for herself? Do you think she plans to earn anything for herself? Why should she since the world is being handed to her on a silver platter?
But then, it's none of my business and not my place to comment. Forgive my intrusion.0 -
She's a very pretty girl.
Don't listen to Azgunowner, he's a troll -- things will all work out because you care.0 -
LF,you have a very beautiful daughter,She looks alot like my niece.(man my brother has his hands full). If she is everything you say,I would say let her have the car if she deserves it.I had a 87 Fiero GT when I was junior in highschool and Iam still alive, although I did pay for it myself with my dads co-sign. 0 -

+1 -- that was my immediate thought.0 -
LF, With a beautiful and headstrong daughter like that, and we won't even get into the car, YOU HAVE GOT YOUR HANDS FULL!
Good Luck!
So who's paying the insurance for her to drive that nice little bimmer? Looks like about a $15,000 car. Might be better to start her out on a $1500 chevy corsica.[;)]0 -
Good luck. She's an attractive young girl. I don't care what kind of car she drives. However, a young/new driver needs as little distraction as possible while learning to drive. I hope the dogs were not in the car while a 15 year old was driving!! 0 -
The puppies stay at home.....she is bad enough without all of that going on. I have a hard time driving with them in the car with me. She has earned a lot of things herself.....its not like people are giving her things like this all of the time. It hasn't been "the spoiled life" every day of she has opened her eyes. I know if people knew the details they would be excited for her....but the details are not public so just think what you want. She is a sweet girl and got a great gift....it will be a VERY long time before she actually gets it. 0 -
Good Lord! For just a moment, I thought you had posted pics of my neice. Your daughter looks just like Katy. Any-hoo. Good luck with all of that. Make sure she knows how much that car is gonna cost her to replace[:D] 0 -
locust fork, I had a fast car when I turned 16. I paid for it though.
2 rules that had a profound impact on me:
1. Any ticket of any kind: Car gone for 1 month.
2. DUI or illegal transportation: Car sold. I get nothing. Must still pay for all fines.
Those rules made me a very careful teenager. Had I not had a very nice car, things might have turned out differently.
