moved the safe again
Well, I moved my gunsafe to its (hopefully) permanent location. This is about move number four in two homes. It's a Browning, and not really big enough anymore. But oh well!
I really don't think anyone could get into it, or would take the time. They'd just cart it off, right?
So I anchored it to the floor. I nailed two 2x6s between the floor joists in the basement flat against the floor. Drilled through the whole works and fastened it together with a long carriage bolt up through the 2x6s, the floor and the safe bottom. One of these assemblies at each corner.
I'm sure it could still be defeated, but I don't think your average burglar would bother. I hope! MAybe I should electrify it too!

Carriage bolts into the 2x4 is a good idea. That should slow 'em down! 0 -
