Traffic at a virtual standstill across area!
Most of the major roadways are compacted snow and ice with multiple cars, semis and even transit buses stalled and spun out causing a complete gridlock.
The ODOT has now issued an order that all vehicles must have chains or the drivers will be cited.
What does that do for the poor sap that left for work at 5:00 am and has been stranded behind a jack-knifed semi for the last 6 hours?
The weatherman last night forecast a light dusting of snow turnign to rain this morning.
We have 26 degrees with 4" of new snow and still coming down.
I'll be staying home and enjoying the beatiful scene!

All we got this morning up here in Skagit County was about 1 inch of new snow but the 3 inches we got last week was still on the ground. Glad to see it finally warming up. Our first day above freezing in a week. 0 -
You say this stuff falling from the sky is white? Do you have pictures? (Louisiana here[;)][:D])
Inly thing that falls here is clear and wet and MIGHT occationally freeze. We'll shut down schools if it sleets here.[:0]

I have been having a ball out there playing around in Portland, OR. When I came home from a Doc appointment at 10:am I could not even to begin to get up the hill to my house. So slid back down backwards, went over to the grocery store parking lot and put on the chains. Man the car went up that hill like it wasn't there, I passed a bunch of expensive 4X4 rigs stuck halfway up the hill.[:0][:0]
Chains are a pain to put on but they rule! You can stop with chains but with 4X4 brakes still don't work anybetter.[^][^]0 -
When the roads are too slick to drive on I drive in the ditches. No compacted snow there.[:D][:D][:D] 0
