Should just bulldoze it all and turn it back into a flood plain as it should be, stupid people build in these areas there asking for it. To rebuild even more so. 0 -

Either way, the job was rushed. If it's important enough to be demanded in that short amount of time, it should be important enough to give it a little leeway when things don't work the way they were supposed to.0 -

Check out the picture of the bridge....you paid for it...the Army Corps of Engineers made a road connection the islands.
Also Palau has about.....13,000 people. Check out their capitol building. You paid for that too.

1. On any major construction project- Fast, cheap, good. Pick two of the three
2. Pumps worked fine until a barge punched a hole in the levee.
3. If you don't want to drown, don't go to sleep in the bathtub. the BLEEPING city is BELOW sea level- why was ANYONE surprised at this?0 -
While the Corp may not have a stellar reputation, asking to do a project that normally would and should takes years, in four months is asking for nothing short of a miracle. By doing so all you are doing is building a false sense of security. Levees will never be 100% effective because there is always a possibility of failure due to a lack of maintenance because of lack of money or time. 0
