Tell us what your budget is and we can tell you the best scope to fit in that scale. The best scope on the market is the S&B PM-II, but unless your budget is over $2500 that advice wouldn't do you much good. 0 -
Leupold M4 0 -
sorry my budget is $1,000. I dont wanna overdo it too much you know what I mean. The rifle will be used for target practice and hunting. 0 -
Burris, best bang for the buck.

Here is one of my favorites http://www.valdada.com/vn/ior/03i . I have a 6-24 on my target .243 and plan on getting this one for my Reminton 700P LTR. 0 -

If you keep your target practice under 200 yards, then a 3.5-10x scope will also do well for hunting. Any of the scope brands mentioned will work just fine. I favor Leupold, Nikon, and Zeiss. I have heard great things about Burris, just never owned one.0 -
Ask again, after you have 500 posts, should be about 8-10 days....

that's a nice scope, nwcid. the 4-14 you linked to has a choice of mil dot or mp8 reticle, which one would you recommend? 0 -

I like the MP8. Like I said I have the 6-24x50 on my .243 right now and like it. In the pic the MP8 seems a little busy but I like it way better then Mil Dots. I think Mil Dots are great for shooting people which is what they were made for. The MP8 is bold enough to see well but not so bold as to be in the way. The MP8 is one of the main reasons I bought this scope.
The glass is clear and sharp even set to the highest power, not something I get with my cheeper glass. The side focus is very nice and the adjustments knobs are easy to set and use. The tube is built like a tank.
Here is a pic on my Weatherby SVM:
