I agree, its a good idea and would eliminate half of the welfare recipients.

But, of course, I would not want people receving social security checks to have to pass that test.[:D]

Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check????? Please pass this along if you agree, or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Something has to change in this country and soon!!!!!

    (Actually, I don't)

For cries sake, zip! The answer is "no" and it's pretty obvious - just start thinking like a Liberal and you'll immediately feel better about it![;)][:D]

I agree on the urine test idea, but :

If it was done all it would do would be open a market for them to buy "clean urine" from someone so they could pass the test.

Or like a co. I once worked for: Nobody ever took a test, and
even the ones known to be dirty got clean cards. Obviously a doctor
    in somebody's pocket.

Welcome to the Police State. Why should ANYONE have to be subject to a random urine test? A urine test is just as unconstitutional as a concealed weapons permit. How easily we give up our rights.

I suppose it would be ok for an employer to come to our homes and take a look around, too.

If they don't like the urine test idea then get off the public tit and get a job. My only problem is WE would have to pay for the tests and then WE would have to pay for the rehab program! It may end up cheaper just to pay people not to work.

Since when has that made a difference?

I used to be a safety director, and fired several employees for not passing, so I agree with you 100%.
