paypal chargeback?
I sold items to a guy in mexico in december and today i get an email from paypal saying he didnt authorize the payment from his credit card co. Anyone been through this befor?

i just got out of a dispute with paypal on some items i sold. paypal claims you are protected as a seller; however, you are not. Paypal is a joke, and in my opinion criminals. i have not experienced a chargeback on a credit card; however, i hate to break the news to you that the buyer will get their money back from paypal and paypal will pass on the debt to you (even leaving your account a negative balance if need be)...its strong arm tactics, and they really do not care about the honest sellers.

if you don't make them a huge amount of profit they could care less about you. it was on the news a week or so ago. pay-pal sucks ass and always will. there no buyer protection or seller protection, its who calls first or makes more money for them that wins. money talks, you walk. 0 -
I HATE Pay Pal...and everyone should spread the word about how bad they are. I wish someone had told me about them before I went through all the mess they put me through. 0 -

I forgot to mention earlier that if you sell items online then you pretty much have to offer customers paypal as a method of payment, its almost expected. I have used BidPay one time, but i hear a lot of negatives about them also.
what other means of online payment have you all had experience with?0 -

WRONG. If you are the seller, you make the rules. Anyone that still deals with anit-gun Paypal richly deserves what they get.0 -

As much as I have also been frustrated with PayPal, they will eventually reimburse you IF you complied with their requirements, i.e., ship to a CONFIRMED address within 7 days of payment. That's why I only ship to confirmed US addresses unless the buyer has a longtime history of strong, positive feedback. 0 -

Try forgeting your password after changing you on line server.
They've owed me $10.00 for more then 3 years.
Now it's only cash or money order.(Then only after it clears the bank)0 -

Read the Paypal contract. Paypal has been sued in several states and may have been forced to change their contract so my information may be outdated. If you agree to paypal's contract they have a IRREVOCABLE lien not only on the account connected to paypal but ALL accounts that you have. If paypal determines that the transaction between you and the buyer(s) in Mexico was collusion and the damages to paypal are significant then paypal could clean out all your accounts. If you don't like that you have to try legal recourse where paypal is located and has tons of influence. Of course that wouldn't be easy as paypal would have already cleaned out all your resources hire a attorney and travel to their biased court district. 0 -

PayPal sucks.
What I meant by my comment was that buyers generally assume you accept paypal because nearly everyone does, and when they find out you do not it is sometimes after the auction or sale is over.
I sell used laptop computers online and offer a 7 day return for a full refund if the buyer is unhappy for any reason. I had a buyer turn me in to paypal 28 days after the laptop was delivered to them. Paypal ruled in their favor and took my money out of my account, even though there was no validity to their claim. Paypal told me that whatever I had listed in my ad for a return policy did not matter to them, and when I asked for a copy of the information that led them to their judgement in the buyers favor they told me that they could not release that information. So they have no problem taking your money, but wont even give you a good reason after doing so. Once paypal ruled in the buyers favor, they had 10 days to enter a tracking number in order for paypal to deposit the money they took from me into the buyers account, luckily, the buyer failed to do this and paypal reversed the money back to me.0 -
As someone suggested on a post a few weeks ago, I'm going to open another bank account (checking) and keep maybe a $100 in it. Then I'm going to remove my primary account from PayPal, eBay, etc. and register my secondary account with them. If I need more funds in account #2, then I can get online and transfer from #1 to #2 or vice versa. But I'm going to keep a minimal amount in account #2----just in case something like this happens with me. I've already checked with my bank and all I need is a minimum deposit of $50 with no monthly cost, etc.
