MARION, Ind. -- An animal shelter is asking the public to help it find whoever has been stealing bags of dog and cat food from its shed.
The Marion/Grant County Humane Society said employees found several bags of animal food missing from its shed Sunday morning -- the third time in recent months. Someone had broken a lock to access the shed.
"You wouldn't think you'd have to lock up the dog food, but they'll do anything," shelter volunteer Adam Bridges told 6News' Ericka Flye.
The society's Cheryl Walker said she and others are fed up with the thefts. The shelter has dozens of dogs and cats to feed.
"To steal from us is insane," Walker said. "We don't have anything, and you took the only thing we had to keep (the animals) alive."
Walker said anyone who might have information about the thefts should call the shelter or police.
The shelter is taking donations. For more information, call 765-664-1111.
