I'm sorry to hear your news. Do you have to use insulin or is it controllable with a proper diet?

From someone else's point of view, the second could be considered bad news too.

    So far no insulin.
    I had to give up
    bread
    milk
    rice
    potatoes
    pasta
    Anything that has fast carb's.
Since I gave up that stuff
my blood sugar went from a 200 average
    to a 115 average!
Maaaaaaan I really miss pizza, ice cream & freedom fries! [V]

Don't play with it...your diet can be your best friend or it can take your legs...then your life. I have seen alot of friends go thru this...just don't gamble mmmkay.

Lose weight also, many peoples diabetes dissapears after a substancial weight loss..Diet, exercise are the keys to controlling early diabetes also.

Take a Diabetes education class. That will give you some insight on what you can eat. Milk, rice, corn and sugar sweets affect me the worse. I find that I can tolerate ONE bad thing a day and still control my glucose level. Good luck.

It's the phat. No mystery about it.
It's impossible to exercise the phat off unless that exercise is pushing yourself away from the table.
Hopefully this is a wakeup call and you have the will to work yourself out of it.
Don't look to drugs to bail you out.
    Good luck.

    Thanks!
I've been off the fast carbs
for two months now. I still
eat the same amount of food
    but I notice that I have a
little more room in my pants!

    Interesting side effect
    when you drop fast carbs
    from your diet!

If you're really serious about it and ready to bite the bullet, I can email you a Diabetic Diet where you can calculate and design your own menu depending on the number of calories you want to take in per day.
