I think anyone following this thread would have to agree the two little old ladies had no idea the value of these items at fair market value, I put a fair price for the lot at around $2000. dollars. Maybe I just have a concious and some here don't. Fair is Fair a agree, Taking advantage is a whole other thing.

I guess we will have to take you at your word that you wouldn't have grabbed them, handed the women the money and ran home. If you gave them more than they were asking, good for you. Would you do the same thing at a garage sale? At a gunshop with an unknown collectable with a non-collectable price? At a gunshow with a mismarked gun?

    I doubt it.

You're right Danny. The knowledgeable always take advantage of the unknowledgeable, otherwise what would be the advantage of being knowledgeable?
I used to never take advantage of them. What did it get me? Higher prices and absolutely no appreciation.
I think it was The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly that Eli Walach summed it up best; "If God didn't want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep". [:p][:D][;)]

Damn beautiful stash of guns there.
You Mutt! You oughta be locked up for stealing those guns from those grannies.
    I am envious.

Ethics aside, profit rules in todays world. The dead Husband was at fault for not teaching his wife something about the value of his hobby. Mrs. Blue knows what mine are worth and what I went through to find some of them. When I die - I hope she would set an appropriate price, but if she is looking for a fast sell it's up to her. Of course my kids will have the best of them anyway. Good finds!!

Perfit example why there is a list of firearms in the safe along with
their approx. value. There are instructions on which ones are to be passed on to the sons and other family members. Finally there is the name of a trusted friend to help dispose of the rest.
