Several Walmarts in Maine drop guns.
A couple weeks ago the Walmart in Houlton, Maine shipped all their firearms off to someplace. An article in the paper today says that several Walmart stores in Maine will no longer be selling firearms.

This is a duplicate thread. You should have searched the archives and posted on one of the many original threads concerning Wal-Mart stopping the sell of guns. Thank you for your support. Don 0 -

I'll have to disagree with you dcon12; as there have been no past posts on Walmarts in Maine therefore it cann't be a duplicate post. [}:)] 0 -
I wonder if Wal-Mart is getting squeezed by a political group to dump the gun sales?? 0 -

i would lay money it all has to do with the incompetence of the workers, and since dumb ass makes min wage, and accepts no responsibility a few laws have been broken from time to time0 -
The only thing that matters to WalMart is PROFIT. I'm sure there are a few local gun dealers in the Houlton neighborhood. Mainers tend to pass their guns along to family, trade, barter and buy locally. There's a weekly magazine called Uncle Henry's and you can buy just about anything you want from it, including guns. 0 -
Yes, woodshermit there are a few dealers around Houlton area and I'm one of them. I can usually beat their prices on rifles and shotguns except in the fall when they are selling at about their cost to lure guys in. The store manager is a friend of mine and he once told me that firearms and ammo were not big profit items as they had to sell too close to cost to compete. You're right a lot of guns (30 -30's around here) are passed down to sons or grandsons. Then they decide the gun isn't big enough and trade them in on one of the big magnums then come back in a couple years and trade them in on something smaller. 0
