Punishment for Concealed Weapon

does anyone know what the general punishment is for illegally carrying a concealed weapon. i heard in california it was a misdomeanor and first time offenders with a clean record got no jail time.

  It might have been a misdemeanor three years ago, as long as you owned the gun and were not within a prohibited class; who knows now.

  Same here. I had a local cop in Groton get the suprise of his life when I answered "Yes" (I wasn't going to lie). He stepped back and his eyes got huge! It was pretty funny. He told me to stay in my truck and he went back and started talking with one of the other LEOs standing there. He came back a minute later and told me to have a nice day!

  Illinois is not a gun friendly state. Getting caught with a gun in the car will cost you your firearm, a class A Misd. with up to 364 days in Jail. Count on a hefty fine and costs over 1000.00 and up to 2500.00.
