Does the size of your deck really matter?

Does it really matter how big a man's deck is? I'm wondering if I should get a bigger deck. Had friends over and this one guy kept bragging his deck was bigger than mine. A nice looking lady saw my dismay and told me my deck was just the right size and it sure felt sturdy. Maybe i should just get an extension on my deck. What do yall think?

    All I have is a small, covered porch.

    My second wife left me for a man with a HUUUUUUUGE deck.
    Local lore has it that his deck was the source of much entertainment when he threw parties.

    He'd show it to anyone.

    Really, I don't think it matters about the size of your deck, it's just how often you use it.

    We have a smallish covered concrete porch out back. Next to it is a small (10'x10') deck, surrounding it all is a large brick patio.

    It's not the size of your deck that matters but how you utilize it. Plus, no matter how big your deck is, someones' always going to have a bigger one.

    Just a reminder: be sure to to use protection on you deck.... Even if it only gets wet occasionally why take chances!!

    I really think that presentation of your deck is everything. Keeping the deck clean and neat is a must. Nobody likes a messy deck. Don

    Well my deck is a little different,it has steps to get up on it and I do have an extension that curves around to the left,but the most unique feature has to be the lights on it,some of my lady friends say it looks like a runway....at night,yep we are proud of my deck[}:)][:D],Loko

    I was always proud of my deck and kept it neat and clean in case unexpected company arrived. I also covered it quite frequently but, in time, it began to shrink from lack of use. Although it's still fully functional, it's become warped and weakened from years of use (and abuse) and I no longer have need to cover it. [:(] Take good care of your deck and it will take good care of you. [;)]

    I have two large decks. Both get lots of use. I get lots of comments about how sturdy my decks are and how well they are proportionate of length and girth . [}:)][}:)][:D]

    As previously noted, size can be important. In fact, even a couple of extra inches can make the difference between just two people enjoying it, or being able to share it with the other special people in your life at the same time.

    Investing in one's deck is always worthwhile. Anything done to enhance or enlarge it will pay off in the long run. What else can you spend money on that you and others can enjoy so much?

    I have a steel deck. Unlike wood decks which can dry out and crack, my steel deck will stay firm as long as a bit of oil is applied. It is not affected by bothersome boring insects that guest sometimes unknowingly bring with them.
    A steel deck can accomodate a greater number of users at a time than a like-sized wood deck due to the additional strength inherent in it.

    It does become a chore hosting everyone that wants to party on my deck though. I usually have the users tidy up my deck with a good warm water wash down followed by a blower.[:0][:o)]
