I may be wrong...but I kind of doubt this cartridge will catch on.

I believe we have passed the point where there are too many cartridges. Too many are being developed for marketing purposes, rather than real need.

I'll wait on the .427 Super Magnum. [;)]

Maybe they would call the .427 the "427 Rat".

Great ballistics on that one, but who knows if it will catch on, it would be great for a lady who couldn't handle the recoil of a 357

I once designed a 440 Imperial Magnum, with SonDave.

+1 I'm so sick of it.

Real men carry snubnosed .357 magnums. I agree that they are just pulling cartridges out of their arses now as marketing gimmicks. I personally don't like these new rounds like that because ammo so expensive, and hard to find. The only exception I own is a .300 wtby , but it is fairly easy to find around.

Not since the 401 PowerMag, 41AE and 45GAP has a cartridge so fired the imagination of sports shooters, law enforcement and the military.
The round is obviously perfect for the Mateba and Steyr Scout to be sure, but finally allowing for a six-shooter SP101 is just.. well... just so very, very special.

    No, really.

S&W .500 Mag. is as high as I'm going. Anything bigger ... why bother?

I hope you are wrong. I've read up on this cartridge, and it looks like a fantastic loading for a revolver for someone who is interested in "packing." plenty of power and less recoil than a .357 with more punch than a 38? sounds like a delight for women or inexperienced shooters or the recoil-shy who still want a viable self-defense load.

I'm planning on buying the SP101 in this chambering for The Wife when I get some $$$$$.

The wildly popular .25 ACP does not stand a snowball's chance.
