F-22 or X-Wing
Would you rather have the new F-22 or X-wing off Star Wars if you had to go into a dogfight with a Star Destroyer in the Atmosphere

If I were you, I'd rather take my meds like the doctor says and then ask for one of those nice "hug myself" jackets.

X-Wing. Light speed capable and the ability to operate in both the atmosphere and space. Plus, it's primary weapons(4 lasers on the wing tips) aren't munition based, so besides a major power loss (which would shut down nearly the entire craft) and over heat, it has nearly infinite "ammo" supply. Also, the x-wing's secondary weapon, the proton torpedo, is much more powerful than anything the F-22 can carry.
Given a third choice, I'd go with a Klingon B'rel class Bird of Prey. Crew of 12, atmospheric maneuverable, trainable disruptor canons on each wing, and a photon torpedo launcher. Taking into consideration the similarities between Klingon and Federation torpedo technologies, the launcher could easily be upgraded to launch Star Fleet's more powerful quantum torpedoes. Also, the B'rel Bird of Prey is equipped with a clocking device. WHile standard cloaking devices don't allow a ship to fire while cloaked, it does give you a definite tactical advantage. On a side note, I'd replace the Klingon cloaking device with Romulan cloaking device, the technology is far superior to the Klingon's.
Edit for photo.0 -
I will take an Ori mothership from Stargate SG1. Followed by a Borg cube. A star destroyer is a big sob, and using fighters against it is silly. Despite the movie. If I had to engage in the atmosphere I would use a B1 bomber dropping a specially built H bomb with depleted uranium armor piercing nose and a slight time delay fuse. 0 -

Real, live girls are fun to date, too.0 -
If you attack from long range or use maneuver to avoid the Star Destroyer's defensive armorment, it turns into basically a sitting target, so in theory, you could use a series of ground batteries if they have the necessary range. 0 -

I introduced the idea of using Star Trek weaponry.
And as everyone knows, Star Trek is in the future whereas Star Wars happened "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away."

I'll take a Defiant-Class ship any day. 4 foreward pulse-phaser emitters with the standard beam phasers covering the rest of the ship, and 2 quantum torpedo launchers facing foreward. The ship only has 4 decks, ablative hull plating, and a Romulan cloaking device. It's like a single-seat fighter on steroids. 0 -
SU-47 Hands down to take out a Star Destroyer.

The F22 would be easily defeated by a DeathStar.....the F22 accepts FireWire transmissions to it's computer....they would just send it a chain email and it's processor would melt down.[:p]0 -
I would want Darth Vader's tie fighter. It has hyperdrive. 0 -

My B'rel can land on the planet surface which is better if you need to make emergency repairs and Klingon vessels are far more rugged than Star Fleet/Federation ships.0 -

Haven't you noticed how incredibly fragile Tie fighters are? Why in the world would you want one???
Edit: You can spit on them in a dogfight and they go up in a ball of fire.0 -
You're right, I'll take an X-wing. 0 -

I've seen the original Star Wars movies but not the new ones, and I've never watched a single episode of Star Trek, so I have no idea what you're talking about, and I can't even find a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head. 0 -
how about the cloaking device that was used on the pegasus. go thru rock, and invisible too. 0 -
