one of my all time favorite, it is great on surround sound i guess that's why it won an oscar for best score
i like the actual portrayal of firearms, their muskets are even single shots, the old man with his rifle club is a bad azz, the only weapon mistake i have found in the 20+ times i have seen it is when magua{?} is on the rock cliffs, it shows a close up of his knife, looks a bit modern on the handle0 -

1911, I noticed that last night for the first time, as I have seen the movie a half dozen times. I saw the closeup of that knife, it has a black handle that looks like plastic.
That film was filmed around here in the Asheville NC area.
Great movie, very authentic looking guns. The film also showed the effectiveness of the Indian war club. It is easy to see how deadly this weapon would be in close combat, when you are fighting guys armed with muzzleloaders.0 -

Beautiful scenery, it was filmed exclusively in North Carolina, rather than the tribes native land, the upper Hudson Valley of New York.
And Daniel Day Lewis is not too hard to look at, either....
