Gun law change in MO

Have any other missouri handgunners heard about the bill that Blunt just signed? Apparently, any intruder is now fair game in Missouri, no need to retreat anymore, including cars and even tents. Also, from what I understand, we no longer have to apply for a permit from the county sheriff's dept. Does anyone else out there have any details about this? Am I understanding this correctly?

    Article in the Kansas City Star said bad guys are fair game.You can use deadly force not only to protect yourself but for other people also,not just in your home, but in your car ,in public,anywhere there is a threat.This is a great state to live in.

    ...I wonder how that effects me: an IL resident, with a non-resident CCW from PA, that MO honors. Bet it would be a legal bucket of worms, but I'm still carrying when in MO. I'll have to ask the city marshal when I'm down there. I didn't know there WERE still city marshals until I ran into him at the diner. The town's too small for a police dept.

    Just be careful and I hope you never have to defend your self or family, you still have to watch Civil Lawsuits. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

    the local television news last night reported as well, that under this law the shooter would be exempt from civil lawsuits.

    Oh, just wait and see -- it'll turn into MadMax and everyone will be shooting each other and it'll be chaos!! We must all run around like a chicken with its head chopped off and madly wave arms in the air! [:p]

    Good for MO. Now they have to adapt same carry laws they have in VT.

    Woo Hoo! No more purchase permits here in MO!!! I'm stoked. Those people down at county were pricks to the n'th degree anyways.

    The permit process never really bothered me here in this missouri county ($15). I did the paperwork and usually picked up the permit the next day. One thing I never understood though is if they were requiring all this red tape to purchase a handgun, why did they not collect the factory spent casing that comes with most new handguns?...seems wishy-washy to me.

    It's like the vehicle inspections. Do you REALLY think that MO cares all that much more about your vehicle's safety than you do? Do you really think that program saves lives? Hell no. It's about revenue generation--just like that damned annual personal property tax on autos, motorcycles, boats, atv's and whatnot.
