Will you adopt me? You are a good dad.

I'm a softy, where my son's are concerned. Too indulgent, my wife says. Everybody needs good firearms, right?[?][?][?]

My birthday is the 17th of December Dad! [:D]

That's a great gift, one he'll cherish for life.

Sounds like your son has a nice birthday present coming.

Yes, you are 'spoiling' him - but - who cares, he's your son
and he'll probably 'spoil' your grandkids when they come
along - or, rather I hope he does!

... only have one life and your kids are kids for such a short
    time - you'll see!

I think he will appreciate it. Several years ago I got him a Ruger M77 Stainless in .338 Win mag. for X-mas. It was his first dedicated Elk rifle and he likes it a lot and said he will never sell it. A good kid. That's why I "spoil" him![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

I've still got my first rifle - I bought it but dad used to shoot it - and
because of that, I'll never sell it.

My first rifle is still in the family. It was a .257 Roberts on a mauser action. It has since been rechambered to .25-06. You can guess my age by the fact that I shot my first deer with that rifle in 1961. My brother now owns it.[^]

    That should surprise him.

You ought to take a picture of his reaction and post it.

I think that much like the game of Golf, Shooting skills are most improved by STARTING YOUNGER. I also believe that better equipment makes for better operations of same. You are not spoiling your son, you are making sure he is a better shot than his opponents (if ever).

You are fortunate to be able to give such great gifts. He will remember them all his life. You are a good Dad.

Just got back from the "gun" show. Bought a set of beer glasses for my other son. Got 5 Meggar 1911 clips for the Kimber for $35. Will make a good "stocking stuffer" gift to go along with the pistol.

OK, had the birthday today and my Son was VERY surprised with the Kimber and loved it. I told him if he ever wants to get rid of it, to give me first shot at getting it back. He said not to worry, that he would never sell it. Good kid.[^][^][^][^][^][^][^]
