    I swear that after watching that we simply cannot give up enough American lives and spend away too much tax money in order to help these wonderful folks in Iraq! They are well worth any amount of American blood and treasure.

    It was really nice to watch those security forces standing by and watching, you know, the security forces that we are training and arming. It is easy to understand now how the report sent back from Iraq by Gen. James Jones admitted that the entire security service in Iraq was a failure and should be debanded. Heck, we only gave them three years training and about $50 billion bucks and this is how they protect their own people...We are sure winning over there!

    The Yaziti people (typically found in the Sinjar area of Iraq) are not the only ones who kill over a conversion from Yaziti to Islam. I've seen the bodies of Iraqis who were killed for conversion from Sunni to Shia by their own family members.

    The Yaziti people also take a rather casual approach to pre-marital sex. It isn't expressly forbidden in their religion. This woman wasn't killed for the typical sex-oriented type of honor killing seen by most female victims in Muslim nations. She was suspected of having converted from Yaziti to Islam. The same thing would have happened to her if she would have walked down the street of some Sunni or Shia neighborhood had someone in that neighborhood known that she was of the Yaziti religion.

    There was a Yaziti king who once demanded one kilogram of Muslim eyeballs a day. There is a deep hatred between the Yaziti and Muslims. Kurdish Muslims are somewhat tolerated but Arab muslims and Yaziti would love to kill eachother.

    Regarding the security forces, there's lots that could be said on that subject. Security forces are typically loyal to their own tribe. Some commute from outside areas and live at their police stations for a week or more at a time and they are not loyal to any given tribe or group in their area. Some live in the same area where they work and are recognized every day because they go home from work every day. Those are the ones who are loyal to their tribe over their country and over the law. That's what you saw here. Those IP's were probably Yaziti and from that neighborhood. Any IP who works in the same neighborhood or city where he lives will be killed by his own people while he sleeps at night if his loyalty isn't to them first. I'm not justifying the action of these IP's but they would merely have been murdered on their way home from work and replaced with IP's loyal to the local tribes.

    There is corruption within the Iraqi Army but less so insofar as you would see this type of problem that occur. Most Iraqi Army soldiers that I've met enlisted and were displaced to parts of the country far from where they call home--similar to American soldiers. There is no loyalty to local tribes.

    No, we haven't been training them for three years. We barely got started really standing up a national police force until 2006 which was dubbed "the year of the police" in Iraq. Only mere lip-service was placed on creating a national police force because almost all emphasis was placed on first standing up an Iraqi Army.

    When you have a completely disfunctional pay system for the Iraqi police where they go months and even years without a paycheck while sticking their necks out everyday then they and their families are probably being fed and cared for by their tribes. They become thugs for hire. It's not going to be fixed unless the infrastructure and material support is in place along with a pay system that works. Until then, it's going to be broke and corrupt. It will probably be corrupt to a certain degree after that but you won't have people subsisting on what the local tribes pay them which ultimately buys their loyalty.
