Hung out with the kid. Caught a turtle and made a "habitat" for it to live in. Turtle goes by name of Snappy.

Now I just need to get some feeder gold fish...

Mowed, edged and trimmed the yard. Installed a hood protector on my truck and cleaned the battery terminals.

Now, I'm trying to get enough energy to shave and shower before I fire up the grill.

...Well...since my back surgery, there has been a role reversal at our place. I did a few loads of laundry and hung them on the clothes line. Did yesterday's dishes and put some baby back ribs on the grill. Cathy sprayed the lawn with 2-4-D in a hose-end sprayer. She hates dandilions like I hate liberals. That's no small task, as it takes 250' of hose to reach everywhere.

...Sort of cleaned out the truck and washed the inside of the windows. We're headed to MO this week (yes Jake) and we'll create enough clutter in the truck, without having old clutter in there too. Now, I need to dig out the fishing gear and see what's in need of repair or replacement. I think I'll bring my sluice box and pans with me this time to try the creeks. Not much hope, but one never knows.

Dropped the car off at a repair shop (brakes and can't do them myself at the moment), went to a bar and watched the NFL draft while drinking beer and surfing GB. Not a bad Saturday afternoon.

...Taney county, on Rt. 160, between Branson (ugh) and West Plains. Little hole called Theodosia. Have 80 acres a few miles west of town. It's going to be a short stay, but we hope to get some fishing in on Bull Shoals Lake. I have a guy grazing cattle on the property that I haven't met face to face yet. A couple from PA bought the 80 next to me, and they'll be there too, so it's kind of a meet and greet trip. The PA folks are meeting with a conservation guy to discuss plantings for wildlife, and pond planning, and I want to sit in on that.

Took the wife to the range. I had a new .22 pistol to sight in and some .44 handloads I wanted to try out. She just needed some trigger time with the 10/22 and her .38 home protection gun.

Came home and cleaned guns, made pizza and tumbled brass.

Now I am just sitting on my azz surfing GB and watching Scrubs reruns.

Went to a military shoot at my range. 5 off hand and 5 kneeling at 100yards, 5 sitting at 200 yards and 5 prone at 300 yards. I scored 68 [xx(]. The winner scored 165 [:0]. The youngest competitor was 16, The oldest.....wouldn't tell but, I know he's over 70.

Hey, I had only put 20 or so rounds through it before the competition. I'll try it again next year but, I'll practice alot more first.

I had a blast and made a few new friends.

...Yea Jake, I'm almost an Arky. We looked in WV, TN, KY, AR and MO. That's where we ended up buying. I doubt if my "navigator" will let me slow down, much less stop, but we usually take 55 to 70 to 44. Anywhere in your neck of the woods?

...Now you got me. That always gets real confusing right about there. I "think"..it's 55 to 55/70, a short jaunt on 55, then catch 44 at the 207 exit. Does that sound right? That's almost as bad as going to Chicago for a gravel road kind of guy.

Finally dusted off the Harley and got and nice ride in today. Out into the backcountry close to the edge of the mountains. Oregon has some of the best riding country in the US.[:)] Put about 125 miles on it today and went back home and the wife cooked tilapia (fish) for dinner.

This morning at 9:30 went to the club and shot falling plates. Tied for 4th. The best part was beating one of the best shooters 2 out of 3 times.

Got a call from a friend about a bike for sale so I am now the proud owner of a 1989 Yamaha 600cc something or other. I'm going to use it as my commuter vehicle for spring, summer, and fall and by the end of summer I will have it payed in full on just gas savings. Oh yeah bought a helmet, jacket, and pants for safety. Next up go to the weekend motorcycle safety class and learn how to ride it. I desperately need my head examined. I haven't ridden a bike in 40 years. Must be late mid-life crisis.
