Markets & Economy
Everything's taking quite a pounding. Looks like it's a pretty bad decline but far from hitting the bottom, I was hoping for at least 3-4 more years of stability.

I've been forecasting doom since the Dow hit 1,000.

Well, two years ago nobody wanted to believe that banks will take a pounding. Right, even after banks have been hit, people have hard time understanding what potential has the rate adjustment in 2008 and 2009, which is expected to adjust something like 500 billion worth of mortgages next year, and 300 the year after. And that is just one factor among many. We'll see, I hope I am wrong. 0 -
That's why you have to balance your portfolio with a little international flavor. I keep about 15% of mine in international funds and then a little bit more than that in my taxable accounts. Even though the economy has been hot since the last real bear market other global economies have been growing at a much faster pace. Those that made a ton of money on the international side (Asia, Ex-Japan sector) need to shave some off and take some profits right about now. Leave some on the table but shave a bit off and put it into something with capital preservation in mind until things warm back up domestically. 0
