State Bar Files Ethics Charges On Duke Rape DA

The North Carolina bar filed ethics charges Thursday against the prosecutor in the Duke lacrosse case, accusing him of breaking four rules of professional conduct when speaking to the reporters about the sensational case.
The punishment for ethics violations can range from admonishment to disbarment.
Among the rules District Attorney Mike Nifong was accused of violating was a prohibition against making comments "that have a substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accuser."

The charges will be heard by an independent body called the Disciplinary Hearing Commission, made up of both lawyers and non-lawyers.
In a statement, the bar said it opened a case against Nifong in March 30, a little more than two weeks after the party where a 28-year-old student at North Carolina Central University hired to perform as a stripper said she was raped.
Nifong did not immediately return a call for comment.

You don't think they thought the charges were dumb? Threatening? Yes, but still idiotic. More so, I failed to see what was so significant about the case to bring it into such public light. It is not unheard of for women to cry sexual this or sexual that about a man for no apparent reason. In fact I'd venture to say its pretty common. I know of two guys personally that were falsely accused and then let go because the evidence.
It was just another dumb case blown out of proportion in my opinion.0 -

Maybe. maybe it didn't deserve national attention on its merits. what makes this case unique is the "full-steam ahead and damn the facts" approach of the DA using this as a platform to get reelected while destroying the lives of INNOCENT people. You said your friends who were falsely accused were let go. I'm glad. The DA was obviously interested in justice. Nifong wasn't. for the young men at Duke, nothing was certain, especially faced with a politically motivated and high profile case like this. It's only because of the national attention this case garnered that the truth came out, truly innocent parties were not put in prison and a corrupt and amoral govt. figure will be held accountable. how are any of these things NOT good?0 -
Nifong did the Duke students a hugh injustice. I hope they end up suing him and the state for appropriate damages. The one good thing that came out of it was that the leaders of the black American community were seen, day in and day out, for what they are...dyed in the wool racists. 0 -

I watch the "black leaders" on the news almost everyday here in Houston. They always come off as extremely racist.
I watched some black kid steal stuff at a store then when the store owner caught him the kid tried to attack him and the store worker ended up smacking the kid. Guess who got convicted of a crime there? Yep thats right the store worker. Then after he served his time and payed his fines he went back to work. One of the so called "black leaders" showed up at the store yelling at the owner and threatening him with two militant black panthers on each side of him. He was screaming and cursing at the worker saying if he didn't remove himself from the neighborhood they would remove him. All those threats on the news and no action taken agianst them.
One thing I've always been curious about is who chooses these "black leaders"? Whoever does needs to wake up and see what kind of harm they are doing instead of good.0 -

They choose/elect themselves.
The NAACP was formed roughly one hundred years ago. It's a purely racist organization, IMO, based upon the known black racists like Julian Bond, one of its long time national leaders. The organization reached its heyday roughly ten years after forced integration in Little Rock. This was a time known as the turblent 60s, where the Black Panthers and other militant black criminals took to the streets and murdered and maimed innocent white men, women, and children. Their end rewards were to be taken into the fold of the NAACP Civil Rights movement. This allowed them cover as a part of an accepted institution in the eyes of the Secular-Progressives. Those in education are known as the Lincoln Cultists.
The well-heeled in this group, to include, corporate sponsors helps to ensure that the NAACP and its members are well funded. Today, I would believe it typical that your local NAACP chapters are headed by radical black attorneys in league with the ACLU. They attempt to, on a daily basis, recruit other lawyers and influential people in their communities into their way of thinking. One of their goals to this end is to keep the black American in the news as poor and downtrodden citizens whose ancestors endured 400 years of slavery, and discrimination since then.
One of the NAACP's primary tools to do this is to continue their DVIERSITY programs in our schools, colleges, and universities. This program is in reality based on a communist DISUNITY activity. Another of their goals is SLAVE REPARATION EXTORTION against American taxpayers and businesses. Their method of operation is to often use lawsuits, or like threats coupled with intimidation; hence the militant arm of the Black Panthers which has resurfaced as the New Black PAnthers, which is similar to the old mafioso extortionists.0
