Winchester Model 43 - 218 Bee value

I have a chance to buy a Winchester 43 in 218 Bee. It also has a Leupold 2.5 x 8 vx-III on it with weaver mounts and rings.

It is in excellent shape except that I'm almost sure the stock has been refinished - with a satin polyurethane. The refinishing work was done very nicely but I know this affects value. I have a shot at it for $800.

My better judgement says no but my long search for a nice one is tugging at me.

Please, someone talk sence to me.......Deal or No Deal??

    I wouldnt worry aobut the wood that much unless its been sanded below the metal. If the metal is good and you are going to shoot it I think its a fair price with the scope and all. They quit making them a long time ago.

    There is one that is being auctioned on GB right now to collectors. Although he does not come right out and say that the piece is all original, it might be a question to ask, if collectibility, value, and shootability are concerns:

    You are most welcome, coltnutz. I've always thought having one of those would be fun to shoot, and a great collectible if all original, due primarily to the caliber.
