Son, meet my dog.
It's youth night at the church, and all of the grandkids, their mother and their grandmother are there for the big party.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, my two boys and I are getting ready for an evening of football with the Dallas Cowboys hosting those guys from up north, somewhere.
I grilled steaks and some burger patties for the dogs, and we had a great late lunch. The dogs had their's finished first, and Jake (the Rat Terrior) secured his place on the couch. Red headed off to the dog bed in front of the fireplace and settled in for the evening.
We finished our meal and got the dishes in the dish washer, then headed for the big screen to watch the end of the Redskins game.
Jake is a special case. He was a stray who was dumped and came to us starving. He was going to be put dowm because he was food agressive and agressive to the touch of human beings. Other than that, he was a good dog.
After working with him, he became pretty accepting of Sandy and I, and of our younger son who moved back in with us after his last divorce. He also became very attached to Sherry while she was here. As a result, Sherry, Josh, Sandy and myself can handle him without any problems, but he will bite anyone else if they try to pick him up.
Enter Jason, my oldest son. After lunch today, he went into the den where Jake was on the couch and ordered him off of the couch. Jake growled. He then proceeded to push him off of the couch, and Jake bit the snot out of him.
He got mad and tried to pick Jake up, and Jake bit the snot out of him again. Now he's really mad and tries to kick Jake, and guess what? Jake bit him again!
He yells at me and asked me to get Jake off of the couch. I go in there, pick him up and put him on the love seat.
Now, Jason is so angry he can't see straight. He wants to know why Jake bit him when all he was trying to do was move him, but he doesn't do anything when I move him.
I told him it was really simple. Jake knows I'm the master of this house, therefore, I'm number one. He also knows he lives here and Jason doesn't, therefore he's number two, and Jason is number.... well... something well below the number two.
Now he's sitting in there trying to make up with Jake, and everytime he looks over at him and speaks, Jake growls. This is so funny I can't keep it to myself! I need my video camera![:D][:p][^]

I actually sent Jake to live with them when they adopted Sherry. The DIL sent him back! I can only imagine why.[}:)]0 -

Yep, he was raised to the age of 14 by my exwife as a single parent, and picked up "woman is superior" ideas. Seems he he can't coexist with women or dogs.[}:)]0 -
Our Rat terrior will growel/nip (never bite for real) my wife, if she tries to move her in bed, but she doesn't me.If you have a little dog, you know how they will "steal" your spot, if U get up during the night.
She'll refuse to move for Deb, but when i try to move her she "gives me the belly"[^]
Drives Deb crazy...lol

Getting funnier by the minute. Now, all he has to do is look at him and Jake's hair bristles and he growls. It's getting to the point I think I had better put him in my lap. He could attack him, then I would feel bad, but hey, Jason started it![:D] 0 -
